Conduct disorder is a type of mental disturbance that is often observed in children and teens.

Conduct disorder is also known as CD, is a type of behavioral and emotional disorder that disturbs the functioning and controlling of behavior and emotion of an individual, mostly in late childhood or in early adolescence. Children or teens who are facing very much rules and restrictions from the parents or family, are often considered to suffer with this type of disorder.

 

Occurence:- As per the reports, boys are more likely to develop this disorder as compared with the girls. It is one of the common behavioral disorder. Around one million peoples are founded to suffer from this per year, only in India.

 

Causes:- There are many causes behind this. But the most common are Gentical, biological and environmental. As per the estimates, now another factor that comes into play, is the disturbance in the psychological activities of children or adults. Sometimes disturbance in physical fitness or disturbance in diet, also causes some problems in brain activity which leads to cause such disease or disorders.

 

Symptoms-

1.Violent Behavior:- An adolescent or a child suffering with such type of disorder develops a behavior of being violent and hurting everyone. Like, if he/she didn't liked something, then he will starts to break things or starts to hit anyone around him with anything that is prssent in front of him and sometimes he starts to hurt himself.

 

2. Violation of Rules and Regulations:- In some cases, it is also being observed that they are not ready to cooperate with any rule or regulations. If they are forced to do so, they starts to show aggression and violence.

 

3. Deceitful Behavior:- In many cases, it is also observed that individual with such problems, starts to develop other deceitful activities like lying, stealing, bunking, etc.

 

Treatment:- Like other behavioral disorders, it is also not completely curable. But medicines and therapies are present to control the symptoms.

 

Therapies- Therapies like Psychotherapy and Cognitive- Behavioral therapy, proved to be helpful in controlling the symptoms. However, they can't be performed without the help of a certified psychiatrist.

 

Medication- There are no particular medicines, that are made just to cure CD. But some drugs like Methylphenidate and Atypical Neuroleptic can help to reduce the symptoms.
