Monuments are the heritage of a country. With time our culture and values are getting extinct. In such condition, monuments are one of the greatest source in which yet our culture is stored in the form of Architecture, paintings or interior decor. 

 

So here are few more Indian monuments that are known world wide.

Taj Mahal

 

Who didn't know about Taj Mahal? Not only in India, every country is familiar with its beauty and elegance. And because of its exceptional beauty it is considered as The Seventh wonder of the world. It is an eternal sign of love. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. And that's why it is also known as Mumtaz Mahal. This beautiful monument, made of white marbles, is situated in Agra, a city of Uttar ptadesh, at the bank of river Yamuna. As per the CNN, every year around 7-8 million foreigners visit Taj Mahal. According to documents, the chief architect who built this was, Ustad Ahmad Lahori. Anyone who saw it once, just wants to see it again and again. 

 

Red fort

 

Another historic monument, built by Mutual Emperor Shah Jahan. This is located in Old Delhi. As per the sources, the architect who designed Taj Mahal has also designed Red fort. Every year on Independence day, the respective prime minister of the country host the flag here. 

 

India gate

 

India gate was built on the memory of the 70,000 brave soldiers of British India Army, who died in First world war. It is situated in Rajpath, Delhi. This was built by Sir Edwin Lotyens. 

 

Golden Temple

 

Golden temple is a gurudwara, religious place for Sikhs. It is also known as Shri Harimandir Sahib or Shri Harimandar Sahib. The values of this Temple is not only limited to Sikh religion, every person from every religion, caste or culture, from any corner of the world are welcomed here. It is called golden temple because of its gold foil covered sanctum center. It is also another point of attraction to tourist, as every year millions of people come to see this. The base of this temple was basically built by the mentors of the Sikh religion for Sikh and Sikhism, but later its door were opened for every one. 

 

Jama Masjid

 

 

Jama masjid is the laregst mosque of the country. It is located in chowk area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Basically it is a religious place of muslim community. More than thousand of Muslims can pray here together at once. But now it is also considered as a tourist place in Madhya Pradesh. It was built by Bahadur Shah Safar and was completed in the year 1985.
