Eternity's end has been described as the last WoTLK Gold chapter of the book that tells the WoW storyline. Version 9.2 will also see the return of tier sets for classes These are powerful pieces which offer unique bonuses for specific classes when you acquire a certain amount of set pieces. Tier set gear is obtained through the new raid feature and also through PvP and Mythicand dungeons.

A new patch is also the start of a new season in Mythic+ and PvP. Shadowlands Season 2 of PvP will close on February 21 after which it won't be possible to earn rewards for season 2. Its Mythic+ season 2 will close by the time the server begins maintenance beginning on 22 February. Players will be able to achieve Mythicplus seasonal rating and achievements over the course of a single week off season (with being able to earn that Tormented Hero title and achievement) and Mythic+ season 3 starting March 1.
