As these are the most unprecedented times and we humans are caged in our homes, but on the other side mother nature is healing with no humans around.

The world is going through some really tough times. COVID 19 has impacted our lives roughly. Worldwide, countries have been under stringent lockdown to stop the spread of corona virus. This outbreak in atleast some parts have contributed to noticeable drop in pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in some countries. Talking about India the Covid 19 cases are rapidly increasing and everyone is adviced to stay home and only come out of their homes when required. We also had several months of lockdown and now things are getting back on track but still we the danger is not out. From theatres to colleges to everything non essentials have been shut. Businesses and other working places are slowly opening up but the danger has not been eradicated yet. Surely, these are difficult times for humanity but it also has a few positive effects on the nature. If you’ve noticed the sky is bluer now !

With States borders sealed and all unnecessary movements of humans and traffic restricted due to the lock down the air quality has improved. This is not just in India but the satellite images have shown fall in nitrous oxides produced from car engine and power plant in countries like China, Italy, South Korea and UK. The water looks clear in world famous canals in Venice, Italy. NASA images show how pollution is dropping rapidly in cites across the globe. The birds are chirping from around the world and we can hear that as there is no noise pollution. Carbon dioxide is tied to industrial activity, electricity production and transportation so anything that effects those sectors will impact greenhouse effect as well. There is no denying in the fact that we humans are going through a very tough time but on the other hand mother nature is healing herself from all the pollution we humans have given her. From our homes we can feel the healing of the nature. This time too shall pass.

But the question arises what we have learned from these times? In future we need to be more careful with the pollution we spread. It is time for priorities to be revalued, change our ways of life and nurture mother nature who have protected us for ages. All said and done, it is our imperative that we use this lockdown period effectively. Connect virtually with family and friends. Send messages, make calls, read books, take care of ourselves and our loved ones. By staying indoors we will not only keep ourselves safe,we will also do our bit in healing nature.
