Though India's education system is large, yet has faced copious problems in execution of educational programmes that can actually benefit readers and preachers, both. It is an oldest version of system brought in practice by Britishers in India. As rules, regulations, and periods are

India is a 'Developing' country, even after 73 years of Independence. One of the foremost reason for such is Economy. And economy seeks for literacy, and a well constructed education structure. But if we talk about stats of July, 2020 India's literacy is at 74.04% with Kerala at top and Bihar at the bottom. Infact literacy rate among females is merely 65.46% which is quite absurd. 47.8% girls are still devoid of any education, in such magnificently modernised world. Though there has been a sluggish increment in literacy, but is it even countable when it comes to 136.6 crore of population, which makes 17.7% of total world's population?

India has one of the largest and most complex system in the world, facing copious problems regarding execution of various educational programmes that can actually benefit readers and preachers. The system has always emphasized on rote learning of thesis, terms, and proposals coined by the brilliant and billion of scientists all over the world. It has failed students when it comes to practicality in the field that is being taught in 1000+ page books. 

Indian families too has restricted their mindsets to science with maths and computers as basics of education. They vehemently promote peer pressure, and all those stereotypes that pulls us behind. They have failed miserably in understanding the true essence of education which is not just a means of earning, but a means of living and behaving well in the society with no more bondages of those social norms that impede us from success, and a means which lets our mind differentiate between do's and don'ts. 

Literacy gives us the prodigious power of knowledge that keeps on inherited by the upcoming generations. So, it comes on our personal level that how do we contribute in literacy development, like being exposed to multi-dimensional creativity, indulging in the field that interests and fascinates the most, and parting some time from daily schedule to teach children of unaffordable class, because education is something that everyone deserves without any discrimination of class, gender, colour, or any community barrier. 

Hope becomes high from the New Education Policy 2020, aiming at making "India a global knowledge superpower" which may overhaul the country's education system. NEP focuses on various aspects, such as:
• school curriculum to be reduced to core concepts.
• students will be given increased flexibility and choice of subjects.
• report cards will be a comprehensive report on skills and capabilities instead of just marks and statements.
• sampling of important vocational crafts, such as art, work with electronic machines, etc.

 

Being a student myself, I have prodigious expectations from education system and system changing programmes. As we all are aware with the loopholes about the education system, that we currently have in India, I really hope this programme would be a ground level work for all the classes of society, for a structure that will balance our literacy, economy and eventually the development of the country.
