Kindness has become just another word we hear as we go about our daily life. This article emphasizes the importance of kindness in our lives.

Kindness is the essence of creation. It is the quality of being empathetic, considerate, friendly, amiable and everything along those lines. Instant kindness defines the character of an individual but prolonged kindness becomes a habit in them. Kindness is not taught, but is a thought process to do or not to do. Sometimes, kindness helps climb the wall of uncertainties. The path of kindness may sometimes seem dark but the fruit of kindness always sees the light.

Being kind not only gives us self-satisfaction but also a sense of warmth and accomplishment. From time immemorial, kindness has been a part of our existence. It is unseen and intangible but can be noticed in many ways. A simple act of kindness can make a sea of change which the giver would not even have imagined. Being kind not only gives self-satisfaction but also creates positive vibes in the society.

Here are some tiny acts of kindness that you can achieve in your everyday life:

  • Hold the door for someone - though this may be a very small move, it may bring a smile on the other person's face.
  • Send a thinking-of-you text - no matter how bad somebody's day may be going, a simple text from you can brighten up their mood.
  • Be kind to your baristas, waiters, cashiers etc. - though they have hundreds of people to serve day in and day out, they will never forget you. All you have to do is smile at them and ask how their day is going.
  • Leave kind comments under people's Instagram posts - your comment may even become the highlight of their day, you never know!
  • Leave a generous tip - this may be just what they'd need to make their day 10 times better.
  • If you happen to see litter on your path, pick it up and throw it away
  • Do something for someone whithout them asking - kindness can destroy the cruelty, animosity and negativity in  the society and helps build a better society.
  • Give someone a nice complement - it can be something very small like "Hey, love your outfit!" or "You have the best smile!" or "You have a great voice!" or " You light up the room!"
  • Bring some snacks along to share with your office buddies.
  • Donate a small amount to a local charity
  • Buy a homeless person a meal - feeding the needy is one of the greatest deeds of kindness.
