Corona Virus Pandemic has spread in the whole World, Doctors and Paramedics are on their Duty 24x7 to save lives but due to the shortage of Medical professionals few states have Increased the Age/Service extension.

In present times when the world is going through a Pandemic, "Covid-19" warriors of these times are Medical Professionals, especially Doctors. Recently In India, Many states have changed the retirement age for government doctors due to the shortage of doctors in these critical times.

A doctor is someone who spends most of his early life becoming a doctor and for the rest of their lives, they serve people.

 

The BMC has issued a circular on April 28th, States that- In the view of the Coronavirus Pandemic, The BMC will need more Doctors. Therefore, the decision to give an Extension in service to them. Currently, the retirement age of doctors at civic hospitals and medical college Professors is 58 years and 62 years, respectively. Officials said that only doctors who are due to retire in the upcoming year may apply for an extension in service, three months before their retirement date.

“This will be voluntary, and doctors and teachers can decide if they want to opt for an extension,” Suresh Kakani, Additional Municipal Commissioner, said.

 

Bhubaneshwar State Government has increased the age of retirement od doctors, from 62 years to 65 years. “Doctors have a very crucial role during the pandemic. Keeping this in mind, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced to increase the age of retirement during a review of the Covid-19 situation," a government statement said.

 

 

The Punjab Cabinet gave ex-post facto approval to the Chief Minister’s decision on extending the services of the doctors working with the Health and Family Welfare department.

An official statement said the services had been extended till September 30, 2020. All doctors and paramedical/nursing staff in the department would continue to work irrespective of their age of retirement.
