New World has a lot to offer players, and it even allows solo play for those who do not want to go into the hassle of making a party or participate in faction/guild wars. Hence in this article, we'll show you New World Best Solo Builds for 1v1 combat.
1. The Berserker (Hatchet + Warhammer)
This is a complete strength build that allows a fair bit of mobility, along with an insanely high DPS output. As Strength is the primary scaling attribute for both the Hatchet and the Warhammer, investing in it completely is the best course of action.
This build does very well in both PVE and PVP situations. The Hatchet is doing exceedingly well in 1v1 encounters and the Warhammer is very reliable against mobs because of its AOE skills. Additionally, when it comes to armor, it's recommended to go for a light set because of the additional damage buff that it provides and the mobility to dodge enemy attacks. If you want to use the best Hatchet and Warhammer weapons, we recommend that you use new world coins to buy at the trading post, which will save you a lot of time to make or find weapons.
2. The Trapper Zoner (Spear + Musket)
The Spear Musket combine very well together, offering a ton of CC, zoning potential and solid range. The Spear and Musket build has less mobility when compared to using a bow but has a bit of a higher damage ceiling.
That being said, that extra damage is reliant on landing your headshots with the Musket. While it will take some practice, you unlock a lot of extra damage when you can reliably hit them! Both weapons provide supplementary damage over time skills, giving a solid amount of DoT pressure to the build and boosting your damage on the spear!
3. The Undying (Hatchet + Life Staff)
The Undying build in New World is one of the easiest to pull off, and it's recommended for those who want to have a more casual time playing the game solo. The Hatchet and Life Staff combo makes the player unkillable in both PVE and PVP.
The idea behind the build is to ensure you are perfectly sustainable. In theory, you will have very little downtime, fluidly moving from mob to mob and quest to quest. Moreso, the build allows you to stay alive for incredible periods if you're into enabling PvP in the open world. It is one of the many reasons why the Hatchet and Life Staff are considered some of the best weapons in New World.
4. The Reaper Tank (Great Axe + Hatchet)
While Hatchet/Great Axe Build is not "game-breaking", it comes really close with its solid DPS and great staying power; Hatchet's Berserker Tree makes it almost unstoppable in hand to hand combat, and the Great Axe gives it an incredible mix of damage and survivability.
For New World players looking for a more tanky build for solo play, the Great Axe and the Hatchet combo can be extremely beneficial.
5. The Nimble Hunter (Bow + Spear)
This Hunter Cyclone Bow and Spear Build focus on dealing damage over time, as well as significant AoE damage to destroy enemies quickly while also knocking them down, preventing you and your teammates from taking damage. This is a PvE Build designed specifically with Expeditions in mind, but can also be used for PvE in general and can be adapted to PvP should you be so inclined.
Kiting with the Bow is unparalleled, and investing completely in the Dexterity line makes it the best-ranged weapon in the hands of skilled New World players. While the Bow will not put in the same amount of DPS as that of Musket, its strengths lie in allowing players to stack up debuffs and move around a lot during combat.
For those who would like to experience the MMORPG without worrying about its multiplayer aspect, these solo builds can do a lot, from dungeon crawling to crafting rare items to taking on a hoard of enemy mobs.
