COVID-19 IN TAMILNADU : cases, updates and rules

Tamil Nadu have 547K total cases of Covid-19 and the state’s death count reaches 8,871. Although the number of recovered cases are 492K, new cases of around 5K have been reported everyday. The state stands third among the highest number of Covid cases in India and all the 37 districts were found to be affected by the pandemic.

The state government have provided a number of testing centres across the state to diagnose the disease. The Chennai city tops the number of cases in the state with 1,56,625 cases.

The state has relaxed some quarantine rules like,

  • Shops are allowed to open till 8 pm.
  • Public transport system is allowed
  • Metro services began from September 7.
  • Malls and showrooms can be opened till 8 pm
  • Worshiping places are allowed to function.
  • However Schools, colleges and other educational institutions, theatres in malls will remain closed till September 30.
