Technology is the sum of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation.

Technological Advancement:

This research focuses attention upon three related issues:

  1. The persistence of technological progress over time
  2. Multiple adoption decisions over a long horizon
  3. The impact of production based learning on those decisions.

The technological landscape changes very quickly. Many of the technologies that were considered the most popular among people few years back might be facing extinction today. This does not happen due to natural or human influenced disasters but because of the advancements and innovations of the cutting-edge parallel and alternative technologies. In some sense, one technology kills another. The future cannot be predicted but, in many cases, it is more or less understood that with the advancement of technologies, some other parallel technologies will suffer the most. Hence, the concerned technology companies pay the price. This is even more practical especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and overall Computer Science and Engineering-related fields.

Emerging Technologies:

These Emerging Technologies are technical innovations that represent progressive innovations within a field for competitive advantage.

Emerging technologies typically go through the below sequential stages:

  • Hypothetical
  • Research and development / experimental / trial projects
  • Working demonstrators
  • Commercialization / diffusion

The impact of technology on modern society is broad and wide-ranging, influencing such areas as diplomacy, economy, medicine, transportation, agriculture, socialcapital improvement and many more. The fruits technology fill every corner of our lives.
