The people should report to the health care centres when they get the mild symptoms of covid-19 disease like fever, cold, cough, and shortness of breath. The samples were collected from the patients and diagnosed by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique.
The sample collection includes:
- swab from nose or the back of the throat
- aspirate fluid from your lower respiratory tract
- saliva or stool sample
The nucleic acids are isolated from the sample and amplified by the RT PCR. Reverse Transcription PCR is used since the viral genome is RNA. The samples are amplified with specific primers to identify the presence of viral genome. The most important factor is that these diagnosis has to be carried out in laboratory with Safety Cabinet IV and the technicians should be fully protected.
