Odd is a type of behavioral disorder that creates lot of problem for the child as well as other peoples around him/her.

Whether your child is showing very different and annoying behavior from other child of his/her age? Or he/she is just disobeying you every time and embarrassing you in front of everyone? Just wait a minute, may be it is not his/her fault. May be he, himself is struggling from inside and you didn't have any clue about the same. It's possible that he is suffering from some disease or disorder and that is the particular reason behind his this type of disappointing behavior. One of such disorder is ODD, oppositional defiant disorder  that may be, is responsible.  

   

 

Oppositional defiant disorder, commonly known as ODD, is a type of the behavioral disorder in which the affected child have a defiant and disobedient behavior towards everyone. It is one of the most common disorder with one million cases per year, only in India.

 

Because of this not only the child is struggling, but also his/her family and friends are suffering. It is often observable that children with such problem doesn't have any friends and sometimes their families also leave them.

 

Beside children, sometimes it is also observed in teen and sometimes in adults too. But it is more common in children.

 

Symptoms:-

1. Mood Swings:- Child or teen dealing with such disorder may show the problem of mood swing, like you will observe that they were happy one minute ago but on another minute they seems to be sad or angry.

2. Stubbornness:-Stubbornness is also one of another common symptom that is often observed. One who is suffering with this disorder, do only these things that he/she wants. Beside that you can't convince them to do anything, doesn't matter who you are. 

3. Argumentative and Aggressive behavior:-Argumentative and aggressive behavior is also seen in the patients of ODD. They are never ever going to be agree on your views, they decide their own agenda. 

 

Treatment:-

This condition of ODD is not completely curable. But the symptoms can be controlled by using some therapies and medication. Atypical neuroleptic, with low doses is often used. 

 

Beside medicines and therapies, the child needs care and time from his/her parents. Parents also have to maintain patience while dealing with the children.
