Healthcare Industry In US
United States is one of the developed country that uses the modern technologies and equipments in the Healthcare Industry. The Healthcare Sector in US is a complex mix of both public and private funding and provision. In US the healthcare is provided by many distinct organisations. Healthcare facilities are largely owned and operated by private sectors. About 58% of community hospitals are non-profit, 21% are for-profit and 21% are government-owned.
US Health System is composed of complex network of resource, organisations and institutions which give much focus on maintaining, monitoring and improving the health of individuals. The expenditure in US for health is significantly higher than other developed countries.
United States has the most expensive and highly complex system of healthcare delivery in the world. The complexity is summarized into four components:-

In 2009, US spent $2.5 trillion on healthcare or approximately 18% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Medicare and Medicaid are the two healthcare programmes that is supervised by US Federal Government. Medicare is an insurance program that serves younger disabled people and dialysis patients while Medicaid is an assistance program that serves low-income people of every age. Tricare is a civilian programme that is controlled by US Department Of Defence which provides civilian health benefits for US Military Personnel and their immediate families.
