Jammu is the winter capital city of union territory, Jammu and Kashmir, located on the bank of River Tawi. Among the nine Union territories, Jammu is the most visited Union territory. It is also known as the 'City of Temples', due to presence of various pilgrimage places. As per the reports, every year millions of the devotees visit Jammu to take the blessings of God and Goddess. Like Kashmir, Jammu's beauty is also incredible and is known to be one of the most beautiful place in whole world.
So here are few of the beautiful and most visited places from Jammu.

Vaishno Devi Temple
Among Hindu religion, Vaishno Devi temple has another level of importance. This temple is situated in Katra on the top of Trikuta mountains, Jammu. As per the religious beliefs, the three stones located inside the temple are said to the other faces of goddess Lakshmi, goddess Saraswati and goddess Mahakali. Every year millions of worshipers, from every religion came here to take the blessings of Ma Vaishno Devi. The temple is situated at the top of the mountain, although there are various facilities like helicopters, horses,etc, to reach the temple, yet the devotees climb the hill by feet, except for the few. She is also known by other names like Matarani, Trikuta Ambe, Vaishnavi, etc.
Bahu Fort
Bahu fort was made by Raja Bahu lochan, after his elder brother Raja Jambu Lochan observed some positive vibes(presence of god) in this place. This historic monument is located on the bank of Tawi River. Inside this, the temple of Goddes Mahakali is also situated, who is also known as the Bawe wali Mata. This temple is also very popular among Hindu community, however visited by people of every religion because of its historic values. During the Navratris, a huge festival called Bahu Mela, is organized here twice a year.
Sheeh Mahal
Another beautiful example of ancient architecture of India. It is a historical mansion in Ramnagar, Jammu. This mansion was built by Raja Ram Singh in the year 1885. It is also known as the ' palace of mirrors'. The reason behind this, is the amazing work of glass that was done in the mansion.
Surinsar Lake
The city Jammu is full with the natural beauty. Surinsar lake is another incredible creation of god. It is located 42 kilometers from Jammu, surrounded with high hills and beautiful dense forest. There are also some religious values associated with this, that's why boating and swimming like activities are not allowed here. In the earlier times, it was known as Surang lake, but later called as Surinsar Lake.
Dargah Garib Sahab
A historic example of 'unity in diversity'. This temple was built by the remembrance of Muslim Sufi saint, Garib Shah, who was known for its humanity, unity and thought of brotherhood in the country. The most beautiful fact about this Muslim religious place is that, it is run and maintained by a Hindu community. So people from both religion, Hindu as well as Muslim visit here to take the blessings of saint Garib shah.
