Andaman and Nicobar islands are one of the nine union territories of India. This island consists of 572 total islands. All these islands are rich in the biodiversity, with 50 varieties of mammals, 270 species of birds and 225 species of butterflies and moths. These islands are widely famous for their huge variety of different species of Shellfishes. The islands are also one of the biodiversity reservoir place having 96 wildlife sanctuaries, 9 national parks and 1 biosphere reservoir. Actually these islands are just perfect destination for the water lovers, due to presence of number of beaches.

 

So here I am writing about few of the places from the islands of Andaman and Nicobar.

 

1. Radhanagar Beach

Radhanagar beach

 

Radhanagar beach is one of the most popular beach. This is also known as Number 7 beach. In the year 2014, it was said to be as 'Best beach in Asia' by the times.If you wants to spend some time with yourself, then trust me this place will not let you down. Extreme privacy with beautiful morning and great evenings. 

 

Cellular Jail

Popularly known as ' Kala Pani', this was a prison made by Britishers to punish the Indian freedom fighters. It is located in the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar island that is Port Blair. This prison took ten years for completion, its construction was started in the year 1896 and was completed in 1906. After the revolt of 1857, this idea of constructing such prison was developed. As per the elders, this place was like the hell on earth. Many freedom fighters were kept here, after raising their voice against the British Raj. After years, it was converted into an Indian monument.

 

Elephant Beach

 

This is the beach located in the northwest coast of Havelock island of Andaman and Nicobar island. One of the best scenic and mesmerising beach of both Havelock Island and Andaman Islands overall. This place is the home of a lot of water activities including  swimming, snorkeling and a number of water sports. 

 

Anthropological Museum

 

Also known as Zonal Anthropological Museum, located in the capital, Port Blair in southern Andaman island. Basically, this museum tells about the human evolution, like difference between todays modern times and ancient times. Those travelers who are interested in Anatomy and Physiology of the humans or those students or researchers who are currently working or studying about human body and their evolution with time, must have to visit it once, this place could be the perfect place to gain knowledge about their field. This was established in the year 1975. 

 

Mount Harriet National Park

 

It is located in the Ferragunj tehsil of Andaman and Nicobar island. It has the third highest peak of the country. This park was built in 1979, and is 20 kilometers from Port Blair, widely known for variety of animal specie like Andaman wild pigs (endangered specie), saltwater crocodiles, turtles, etc.
