Chhatisgarh was formed in the year 2000 on November1st, earlier it was the part of its neighboring state Madhya Pradesh. Previously, in the ancient times it was known as 'Dakshina Koshala' or South Koshala'.As per religious beliefs, it is maternal house Lord Shri Ram, as her mother 'Kaushlya' was the daughter of king of Koshala, that is now called as Chhatisgarh. This beautiful state is situated in the heart of India. The place us full of waterfalls, ancient monuments, rare wildlife, beautiful palaces, caves, etc.


So here are few of the amazing places from the state Chhatisgarh.

Chitrakote Waterfalls



Chitrakote waterfall are located at 38 kilometers to the West of Jagdalpur in the Bastar district of Chhatishgarh, state in India. This waterfall gets water from the river Indravati. This is the widest waterfall in India, the height of the waterfall is also not less, it is 29 meters high, that is 95 in feet. Must visit place in Chhattisgarh. Activities like boating in this waterfall is amazing thing to do there, and watching nature is also favorite among visitors. The huge, wide plunge makes it looks like the Niagara falls, hence also called as the 'smaller Niagara of India'.


Indravati National Park



Indravati National park is situated in Dantewad, in the Bijapur district of Chhatisgarh. This national park was established in the year 1979 and is the state's first national park. This national park got such name because of presence of river Indravati near by. This huge national park is spreaded in an area of 1258 kilometers square. This is home to one of the last population of rare wild buffaloes.


Kotumsar Caves



Cave was earliear known as Gopansar Caves. But these amazing caves are located near a village called Kotumsar, that's why named as Kotumsar Caves. This Kotumsar village is located on the bank of river Manger in Baster district of Chhatisgarh. This place is 35 kilometers from Jagdalpur, one of the most biologically explored cave. During British Raj, it doesn't get proper attention, but later government if the state starts its renovation and established it as a tourist destination.



Tirathgarh Waterfall



This beautiful waterfall is at Kanger ghati, on the bank of Manger river, near Jagdalpur of Bastar district in Chhatisgarh. The best thing about the waterfall is that it splits into multiple falls on its way down, offering an astonishing view.



Nandan van Zoo



This zoo is located in Atari of Naya Raipur in Chhatisgarh. This amazing place is spreaded in as area of 800 acres, that has conserved a lot of exotic animals and birds like Tigers, Lions, Peacocks, Deer, Monkeys, etc. This is one of the world's largest man made safari. A perfect place to visit for all age groups.
