West Bengal is located in eastern region of the India. It is fourth most populated city in the country. This is the only state which has the Himalayas, the Duars forest and number of beaches of the Bay of Bengal. The capital of the state, Kolkata is the most affordable Indian city, rich in various monuments, parks and historic places. This city was the capital of the British India for 155 years, from the year 1756 to 1911, that's why most of the British buildings can be seen here.
So here are few of the places that are mostly visited by each and every tourist or traveler.
1. Tiger Hills
2. Sundarban National Park
3. Howrah Bridge
4. National Library
And here, I am writing more details about the following places.
Tiger Hills
Tiger hills are located in Darjeeling, West Bengal. It is 11 kilometers from Darjeeling. This is the only place from where one can see the view of Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga. The beauty of the Himalayas is clearly visible from this particular place. Every year millions of people visit this place. Visit this place once and you will forget about reach and every problem and will just lost in mother natures charm and beauty. The sunrise and sunset is here, is just like watching heaven from the earth.
Sundarban National Park
It is a national park cum tiger reserve cum biosphere reserve. One of the largest national parks in the state and country also, that is spreaded in an area of 1330 square kilometers. This park was built in the year 1984, rich in vast number of floral and faunal species. Animals from the park include Saltwater crocodile, estuarine, Marine turtles, Fishing cat, spotted deer, rhesus monkey, wild pig, etc. One must have to visit this beautiful Combination of natural and man-made efforts, while exploring the state West Bengal.
Howrah Bridge
Howrah bridge is located over the river Hooghly in Kolkata, West Bengal. This bridge was built in the year 1943, after replacing the previously built Pontoon Bridge. This bridge is 704 meters long, making it the largest bridge of the counrry and is the sixth largest bridge in the whole world. As per the reports, it is one of the country's most busiest bridge. The beauty of Kolkata is easily visible from here and during evening or night, huge bridge even look more amazing.
National Library
National library is the India's largest library. It is located in the Belvedere Road at Alipore in Kolkata, West Bengal. This astonishing monument was made in the year 1836, but was used as a residential place for the governers or the government employees. Later, in the year 1903, it was announced as public library of Calcutta and in 1953, it was converted into the national library of the country. This library contains journals, magazines, books, newspapers and much more. It has around 2.2 millions collection of books. Another must visit place in the state.
