DIVINE DELHI: Places to visit in Delhi

DELHI is the capital of India, a beautiful city and an union territory also. The official name of the city is, 'The National Capital Territory' or NCT. According to the ancient records, Delhi was the capital for many emperors from various dynasties. Delhi is the second wealthiest city in India, after Mumbai. As per the reports from 2015, it is the most visited city in India and 28th most visited city in the whole world. The major reason behind this, is the prescence of number of historic as well as modern tourist's destinations in the capital city. Whole of the city is the heart of the country.
So here are few of those places that one must have to visit in the capital city, Delhi.
1. Humayun's Tomb
2. Delhi Zoo
3. National Museum
4. Rashtrapati Bhavan

Humayun's Tomb
Humayun's tomb was the first garden-tomb in the country, that later served as an inspiration for the formation of various other tombs and monuments in the country. This huge monument is spreaded in an area of 174 acres. This is a beautiful example of Mughal architecture, built in the year 1560s, by the great emperor, Akbar, in the remembrance of his father, Humayun. This tomb was designed by the persian architects, Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son Sayyid Muhammad.
Delhi Zoo
Delhi zoo, also known as National Zoological park, located in New Delhi. This park was inaugrated in the year 1959, spreaded in an area of 176 acres. The plan for building the zoo was made by Carl Hagenbeck from Zoological Garden of Hamburg. But later the plan was modified by Indian government as per the suitability at that time. This beautiful man-made place is home to about 1350 species of animals, from which around 130 species of birds and animals are from the whole world. The list of the animals include Chimpanzee, Hippopotamus, Spider monkey, African wild buffalo, Giraffes, Gir Lion, Zebras and many more.
National Museum
National Museum is one of the largest museum in the country, establishedd in the year 1949. This huge monument is located in the Janpath, New Delhi. Thiis museum consists of several departments, such as Archeology, paintings, Arms and Armour, Decorative Arts, Jewellary, Education, Display,etc.
Rashtrapati Bhavan
Another incredible place in Delhi, also known as 'Viceroy's House'. This huge mansion is spreaded in an area of 130 hectares. This was designed by the British architect Edwin Landseer Lutyens, which takes the duration of around 17 years for completion. The construction was started in 1912 and completed in 1929.
Shopping Markets
The tour of Delhi is incompleted without visiting its various shopping markets. Few of the most famous as well as affordable places include Dilli Hatt, Khan Market, Chandni Chowk, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini market, etc. So whenever you are viting Delhi, don't forget to see the markets and do shopping.
