In a recent research report by Market Research Community, the Intraocular Lens market is expected to surpass USD 6.35 Billion by the year 2030, from USD 4.20 Billion in 2021.

An intraocular lens (IOL) is a lens that is surgically implanted inside the eye to replace the natural lens that has been removed during cataract surgery. The natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy and opaque over time, a condition known as a cataract. Cataract surgery involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with an IOL to restore clear vision.

Monofocal IOLs are designed to correct vision at a single distance, typically either for distance vision or for near vision. Multifocal IOLs are designed to correct vision at multiple distances, allowing the patient to see clearly at a range of distances without the need for glasses or contact lenses. Myopia, hypermetropia, or both are present in astigmatic patients. Toric intraocular lenses are made specially to treat these people. Additionally, toric IOLs are made to do away with the incision implants that are typically necessary for astigmatism surgical treatments, which increases consumer preference for these devices.

The intraocular lens market is projected to grow at a significant pace reaching a CAGR of approximately 4.7%, over the forecast period of 2022–2030, despite a considerable fall in Product sales during the initial phase of pandemic spread and lockdown restrictions imposed globally.
