It was finally fixed to where you could only ever have certain levels of loot that were suitable for your specific class, and also the D2R Items rate at which early-game legendary items were dropped raised. Even though the legendary items you'd be getting didn't cause any problems yet, you could occasionally receive a slight dose of dopamine in order to keep your hands on the rope.

In the event that Diablo 2 Resurrected gets that right and offers a similar loot system as Loot2.0 that was in Diablo 3, then we're already concerned about how much time we'll have to invest in the game. The disaster in Diablo 3 is the best thing that could have happened to the franchise on a go-forward basis. If you mix it along with the Immortal controversy, it's like Blizzard has a fairly simple plan of how to avoid potholes for it to stay among the best of it's most loyal players.

The community is extremely vocal about what it doesn't like, and has been throughout the lifecycle of Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that Blizzard will take this feedback from players fortunate enough to have played large parts of the game before it's released. But we'd also bet Blizzard isn't thrilled by the flood of leaked footage that appears to be coming in the wake of one of these test results.

One element to Diablo 3 that is confirmed that it will be returning is the limited-time Seasons. These are post-game bits of content that change the way legendary items work as well as remixing the content of the base game making it a replayable game already replayable. Seasons were included for a considerable amount during Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that they'll become majorly featured in Diablo 2 Resurrected.

This seasonal approach is also setting Diablo 2 Resurrected up to be another compelling Game Pass game, should the merger eventually close. A game like Diablo that has solid gameplay is the perfect match for a service that allows players who want to play Live games in a couple of months. However considering that the game is due to release in June and cheap D2R Items the battle for what the future holds for Activision continuing to be fought this is one game which is unlikely to receive a Game Pass treatment on day one, unless something substantial happens to it.
