Diablo 4 is here now! Whether you're a returning player or a first-timer, here are some tips that should prepare you for some major moments in your journey.

Smash Everything

As you explore Sanctuary, you'll encounter all sorts of objects, from hollow trees to rock piles and buried urns, and you should interact with all of them as they often drop Diablo 4 gold and sometimes new equipment as well. There will also be lots of items such as barrels, boxes, and furniture that have a red outline when approached, and those can be smashed with attacks to potentially drop rewards.

Use Pins

Pins — you can pin a location on the map, and the game will help direct you there. If you open your map and right-click on it, a pin and a line indicating the path from your location to the pinned location will appear. The path adapts as you travel, so if you detour for an event, it will keep recalculating the shortest path to your destination.

Upgrade Potions

Upgrade health potions in Diablo 4 is one of the most important things you can do in the RPG. Upgrading potions will increase how much health they restore immediately on use, though the percentage of health they restore over time remains the same. Unless you've got a useful Skill or Legendary Ability that lets you consistently heal, potions are your best friend while exploring Sanctuary, so remember to upgrade how much health they give you!

Focus On Completing The Main Story

Once you've completed the main story, there's still a wealth of content to explore and challenges to overcome. For example, Capstone Dungeons unlock after completing the main campaign and offer unique bosses and loot. Nightmare Dungeons are a challenging way to earn some of the best loot in the game. Paragon Boards allow for skill specialization and character progression.

Repair Gear

You'll need to repair your gear often in Diablo 4 as it will gradually lose durability with use—and it will lose even more when you die. Gear plays an important role in Sanctuary, so you should ensure it's in top shape before you take on a tough boss or venture into lengthy dungeons.

Play Together

Diablo 4 encourages you to play with other people. While enemy toughness is increased, you've got at least one other person to wreck the place with. In addition, teaming up is a great way to maximize your XP gains. Just remember to stay close to each other, or the XP boost won't work.

Salvage Instead Sell

Salvaging lets you recycle old or useless gear in exchange for materials crucial to upgrading equipment you want to keep. For resources, this is a lot more useful for you in the long run, as you need these materials when crafting. Yes, you also need gold, but you always get gold while killing enemies and completing quests, so salvaging is the better option until you find extra cash later on.

Transmog Is Free

While salvaging is mostly good for collecting materials, it is also tied to the transmog system. Every time you salvage an item, it is added to your wardrobe if it isn't in your transmog library. Just go to the wardrobe symbol on your map while in a city like Kyovashad and you can choose what style and colour of clothes and weapons you want to slay demons with.

Don't Ignore Events

Diablo 4 events can be very useful. Those orange indicators are Events. It is basically a mini-dungeon where any passer-by can join. The loot consists of Murmuring Obols, Experience Points, gold, armor, weapons, and crystals. All gear drops according to your current World Tier.

Use Town Portals

Town Portals can be found in every town you visit, and they're usually located in the center. They're used to fast-travel to specific regions on the map and can be used anytime. Now you're just about ready to use the portal. All you need to do is open your map and select whatever Waypoint you want to fast-travel. After you've picked one, your character will begin to summon one for you to use. It's also worth noting that getting attacked while summoning a portal will cancel it. So don't try to summon one while you're in a fight.

Stash Somethings

Every region has a chest called your 'stash'. You can keep various items in it, from weapons to armor pieces and even crafting materials, such as if you come across a good weapon or armor piece for another class and it's not worth salvaging, then put it in your stash for when you start a new playthrough as another class. So, unlocking the Stash in Diablo 4 at the start of the game is crucial for the game's progress.

Leave Dungeon Fast

To leave dungeons in Diablo 4 quickly, open up the emote wheel and select the "Leave Dungeon" option on the screen. Using the emote wheel to leave the Dungeon will ensure you don't have to spend an extra four or so minutes venturing back to the start of a dungeon to leave. Unless you loved a dungeon's design and wanted to travel back through it.
