The Diablo 4 Baleful Fragments material is a key resource for crafting once you begin pushing towards the endgame, you can use it to take your Legendary weapons to the next level. But first, you'll need to know how to acquire them.
The Baleful Fragment isn't dropped by enemies across Sanctuary or looted from Diablo 4 Silent Chests, instead this vital resource can only be obtained by recycling Legendary items via the Diablo 4 Salvage system.
Also, before Salvaging any legendary weapon in Diablo 4, players must look at the item's power. The power needs to be 400 and above to receive the rare Baleful Fragment material. Farming multiple Baleful Fragments also costs a lot of Diablo 4 gold, so make sure to budget wisely and grind EXP to be strong enough to take on multiple elite enemies that drop Legendary Weapons.
While Baleful Fragments can feel like a finite resource in Diablo 4, you can always obtain more by farming Legendary items. There are five ways to collect Legendary items regardless of game progress:
Complete World Events to obtain more Legendary Weapons/Items to Salvage.
Complete Nightmare Dungeons, which are high-risk/high-reward.
Kill Treasure Goblins, which have a slight chance to drop Legendary Weapons.
Complete Objectives and Bounties from the Tree of Whispers for Legendary Weapon rewards.
Do Legion Events that reward players with Legendary Weapons.
Use Murmuring Obols gambling for a chance at earning powerful Legendary-level gear.
Once you get lots of them, then you can salvage them when you return to town.
