As we know that technology changes rapidly day –by-day which there is  also changes in  way of communication to communicate each one another .In which there are two types of communication i.e audio and video conferencing. As we know that our country is suffering from pandemic COVID-19 ,during this time audio and video conferencing play most important part in our life. It help most in education field because by using video conferencing it is easy to make communication between students and teachers. By which there is no loss of study of students .

Video/audio conferencing also help in to make communication among countries such as G-20 summit meeting held virtual. If there is no such type of communication, it unable to communicate and may can cause several type of downfalls in economic ,etc.

Video conferencing widely used by companies to interact with their employees and clients within the country and overseas. As we know that due to this pandemic all companies allowed to their employees for  work from home.

Now we know what is audio and video conferencing-

An audio conference, or teleconference, is simply when a meeting  between several parties is held over the telephone instead of in person. The party instigating the audio-conference is known as the calling party and those joining the call are known as the participants.

Example as we have an option to conference our friends when we stay away .

Videoconferencing is the conduct of a videoconference (also known as a video conference or video teleconference) by a set of telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions.

Example: Zoom meeting held to interact among peoples in offices,scools,etc.

You may say that audio conferencing is also a part of video conferencing

  • Breeze can also be used for video conferencing
  • Transmitted to received from any computer in any location that has Internet. User must have microphone, can have camera. Ideally every user has microphone (camera not essential) for synchronous communication.

 Technology requirements for video/audio conferencing:

  • Computer with access (ideally broadband) to the Internet.
  • Speakers to hear audio.
  • Microphone (to contribute audio).
  • Web camera to contribute video.

  • Enhances Productivity : Video conferencing prevents back logging of work, as it allows the employees to discuss the problems with the concerned person without any delay.  Easy availability of communication prevents communication gaps; thus, lessening the chances of pitfalls in the work.
  • It makes our life continue without having any hassale such as in school, student attend classes as they regularly attend ,in company, company interact with their employees and clients as they are ,Country interact with other countries and attend all meetings and discussion virtually.
  • No barrier of time:Video conferencing erases the barriers of time and place by allowing a group of people to discuss things with those working in distant locations without moving from their location. 

Disadvantages :

  • Technical issues:There may be any type of technical issues so there may be delay in work. The malfunction of any of the hardware or software component can hamper the smooth functioning of the work. To rectify the issue, skilled technical people are required. This may delay the work and add to the maintenance cost of the company.
  • Leads to misjudgements :A meeting or an interview via video conferencing can sometimes lead to wrong decisions and selections, as many a time it becomes difficult to access the gestures and personality of a person through this virtual medium.
  • Financial strain:Installing a video conferencing system can be a financial burden for a small scale company, as it is a bit expensive technology and requires regular maintenance.
