The economy of Chhattisgarh is endowed primarily on mining, agriculture, energy production, and manufacturing. Chhattisgarh has major store of coal, iron core, dolomite and other minerals. The central basin is known especially for its abundant rice production. It is known as the 'Rice Bowl of India', rice is one of the major crop of the Chhattisgarh covering 66% of the total cropped area. The major product of maize, cereals, pulses and horticulture produce such as turmeric, ginger, guava, tomato, pea and cabbage. In geographical area 44% is covered under forest, Chhattisgarh is one of the green states in India.Several species of medicinal plants grow in the state about 88 species and the government actively promotes usage of ethno medicine, practised by aboriginal tribes since centuries.

In fact, Chhattisgarh is one of the county's largest suppliers of dolomite. The top quality of iron ore is found mainly in south-central and southern parts of the state. A large area of Chhattisgarh is under the control of the Naxalites. They struggle in the end has hampered the development of this fertile area. When we study about many states or countries economy growth we study along with some independent variables which affected our dependent variable (growth).
