Environment has a huge role to play in our political system, let know about some impacts of this covid-19 crisis on indian politics

In this situation of pandemic where new restrictions has been imposed on citizens and each and every person of the country like being quarantined at home, wearing mask and other changes, indian politics on the other hand has also got affected in some or other ways.

The narendra modi government has had to indefinitely postpone the dooe to dooe enumeration and profiling of 1.37 billion indians, who are locked in at home fearing a pandemic and bearing the brunt of its economic comsequences.

No one knows how soon life could go back to being normal, it could be two montha or even two years.

As of now, covid-19 has thrown a spanner in the work of modi government's hindutva agenda. As in the first year after the re-election the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) wanted to carry out all its top hindutva projects, and the most of it has been accomplished, like the comstitutional change in Jammu and kashmir, construction of ram mandir in ayodhya.

The modi government is likely to plan more such Hindutva policies - population controllaw, and a uniform civil code. But those are not viable at moment.

Like waking up and screaming in the middle of a nightmare, Covid-19 has rudely brought governance and evonomy back on centre stage.

Crisis as an opportunity

We all know that nobody other than narendra modi know's it better that how to make this crisis an opportunity.Even before the fire in sabarmati express train near Godhra, Modi's first crisis was massive earthquake in bhuj in 2001. Efficient post quake relief and reconstruction, in alliance with the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS), helped a newly appointed Gujarat chief minister Bolster his image in BJP and the state at large.

A new page for opposition

If the covid-19 crisis is a political opportunity for narendra modi. It is an even greater opportunity for the opposition. To begin with the crisis has turned the page on hindutva atleast for now. The opposition no longer has the excuse that it is unable to appeal the majority voters just because thay are being given regular dose of intoxicating Hindutva.
