Decision on whether or not the finla year university examinations 2020 be cancelled would be taken soon. Even as lakhs of students are waiting for supreme court verdict on UGC case, the consensus on what students want is clear. In a poll created by Timesnownews.com, 92 percent of the respondents voted for the examinations to be cancelled.
As many as 47,972 votes were cast in the poll. Of the total, 92.03% voters for the exams to be conducted. It may be pointed that many universities across the country have already conducted the final year examinations. Delhi university also recently comducted final year exam in online mode. It would also be conducting offline examination from mid-september as per the orders issued by Delhi HC.
Meanwhile Himachal pradesh high court had given a temporary stay for one examination of HP university. The delay was affected as the high court was not sure of SC orders. With the delay, the university sought permission and was granted the same. The remaining examinations were conducted as per the time table.
Supreme court had on August 18 asked all the concerns parties to submit their response in writing. The three judge bench is now likely to announce its verdict today. While there is a lot of anticipation, many are suggesting that with supreme court verdict on JEE and NEET exams, it us most likely that the exams may not be cancelled. However, the final decision would be on the question if the stayes have the jurisdiction to cancel the university examination.
